He is presently the Editor-in-Chief of the “Annals of Maxillofacial Surgery” and the Executive Editor of “Indian Journal of Dental Research” published by Wolters Kluwer Lippincott Williams & Wilkins. To his accomplishment, he has several International and National publications in various journals of repute. He has authored several books, of them, "The Textbook on Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery," published by Elsevier is the country's best seller and the prescribed book to be used by undergraduate and post graduate students alike.
Decorated as a Bio-medical scientist by the association of Indian Association of Biomedical Scientists, he has been a member of the Indian Council of Medical Research too. He has been awarded the Brammaiah Sastri Award for ground breaking research findings in the field of reconstructive surgery using novel bone morphogenetic proteins.
To his credit he has received numerous awards including the highest form of honour through the “ B.C. Roy National award” from the Medical Council of India. He has also delivered various orations including the prestigious Ginwala Oration of the Indian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the highly esteemedDr R Ahmed Oration of the Indian Dental Association.
He has bagged the coveted “Dr. Ginwallah Rolling Trophy” of the Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons of India twice and has been the runner up twice by winning the ‘Best Paper Award’ at the Annual conferences. He has also received the “Best Paper Awards” at the World Cleft Congresses conducted at Zurich, Halifax, and Goteborg, Sweden. He has won the “Modus Award of Merit” for presenting the ‘Best Innovative Surgical Technique’ at the 6th Asian Conference on Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery held at Tokyo and together with it a cash award of 50,000 Yen. He has also won the “Gold Medal” for best paper at the 4th Asian Conference on Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
